The availability of labour for the horticultural sector is a key issue that will continue to vex the minds of many – from growers to European politicians. There is a real fear amongst growers that the lack of labour will result in significant crop losses. Whilst appropriate bodies are lobbying, what can growers do to help themselves?
This DVD film is aimed at guiding growers of edible horticultural crops through the perceived areas of risk that need to be considered when addressing microbial contamination. The need for produce to be clean as it leaves the fields is not new. The purpose of ‘Keeping it clean’ is to remind existing growers, and inform new growers, of their responsibilities.
