To evaluate methyl jasmonate as a seed treatment to control aphids on protected edible crops.

  1. To determine the effect of treating lettuce seed with methyl jasmonate on subsequent control of infestations of currant-lettuce aphid.
  2. To determine the effect of treating parsley seed with methyl jasmonate on subsequent control of infestations of hawthorn parsley aphid and on the performance of introduced biocontrol agents.
