Raspberry: Detection and quantification of Phytophthora rubi in soil and in plant tissue.

The aims of this project are to improve the detection and quantification of Phytophthora rubi in soil and plant material by developing and validating a novel quantitative DNA assay.  It also aims to determine the link between soil DNA levels and raspberry root rot and cane death based on soil inoculum densities in pot trials.
