Soil Compaction and Potato Crops

This review, written in 2005, presents an overview of soil compaction, including definitions, methods of measurement, causes and mitigation options as well as information on how compaction affects soil functions.  The review's findings were written to address the need of growers to meet GAEC Cross Compliance requirements in place at the time. The related project  "Effect of soil compaction on potato growth and its removal by cultivation" discusses the impact of compaction on potato yields.
