Industry Guide to Good Hygiene Practice: Watercress

This guide was produced to help growers to comply with food hygiene law when producing watercress. The guide was developed by an expert group and is recognised by the Food Standards Agency and Food Standards Scotland in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 852/2004, Article 8. The guidance is laid out in three areas - 

  • ‘The law’ – This quotes the relevant specific legal requirements
  • ‘How to comply with the law’ – This section outlines what should be done to comply with the law
  • ‘Good practice’ – This outlines good practice arrangements that producers may want to implement
