Characterisation of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris isolates from the 2019 outbreak of black rot of crucifers in Cornwall

Black rot of crucifers is one of the most important diseases of brassicas worldwide and it occurs regularly in UK vegetable brassica crops. The disease is favoured by warm and humid conditions and tends to vary in importance from year to year possibly due to different levels of contamination of seeds and transplants and variable weather conditions.

Control of this disease is complicated as there are no chemicals approved and generally it relies mostly on testing of seeds and good hygiene practices in plant nurseries and fields. Read this report to find out diffferent methods for control.
