ProCost 2012

Calculate the cost of each product line without having to enter all the lines grown on the nursery.

The aim of ProCost is to provide hardy ornamental nursery stock growers and protected ornamental plant producers with a simple computer-based method for costing their production.

As it is based on a simple ‘whole-business’ model, ProCost is able to calculate the cost of each product line without having to enter all the lines grown on the nursery.

It achieves this by allocating overheads, labour and other indirect costs as a percentage of total financial year costs. The costing model is highly flexible and is adaptable to most nurseries and nursery situations.

ProCost allows nursery businesses to use their own figures and costs and so it is designed to produce costings appropriate to each business.

Please note that although ProCost is built in the familiar Excel environment, it is important to realise that it is not a spreadsheet. It runs on macros (computer programmes), written in Visual Basic, and so it is necessary to change the security settings on your computer to ‘Medium’ to allow ProCost to run.

For further information see the ProCost user guide (final tab within ProCost).
